A better reference for your Wi-Fi.

Stop downloads and repeat the test near your router. Then compare with a cable on the same device to investigate a possible Wi-Fi limitation.

What the gauge measures.

Transfers go directly between your browser and Cloudflare. The needle shows successive estimates from the engine, not instantaneous speed.

Indicative HTTP test: Wi-Fi, your device, Internet plan and the remote server all influence results. It measures neither radio signal strength nor guaranteed maximum speed. HTTP latency is not ICMP ping.

Cloudflare receives your IP address during the test. Standard mode allows up to 5 seconds for latency and 12 seconds per speed phase; extended mode allows up to 30 seconds per speed phase. Approximate payload limits are 26 MB and 122 MB respectively, excluding protocol overhead. Fast connections may be underestimated. Tests never start automatically.
